Dr Imaan Joshi BSc, MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Imaan Joshi is a specialist GP who works exclusively in procedural work that includes skin including skin disease, skin cancer work.

She has a background in surgical training (Obstetrics and Gynecology) between 2002- 2011, years during which she honed her procedural skills through repetition.

Post GP Fellowship, she wanted to continue  procedural work given her skillset,  her attention to detail and focus on natural, subtle results using non surgical and minimally invasive surgery in skin and aesthetics.

Dr Imaan is one of the few doctors in Australia who combines aesthetic medicine with personalised dermatology and skin cancer work and as such, takes a unique approach to medical aesthetics that goes far beyond just injectables.

Her focus is on the whole face and facial balancing, focusing on 3 main components

- skin and skincare;

- injectables including both anti wrinkle and fillers and

- skin therapies including collagen inducing treatments.

Dr Imaan helps you plan a treatment path designed just for you to address your concerns and then helps you maintain your results for years to come.

Dr Imaan chose Medicine as she saw it as a great way to help people while empowering and educating them on their medical and health needs.

Her years as a surgical training in Obstetrics and Gynecology taught her procedural and surgical skills on patients who are largely awake and therefore the importance of a gentle touch. Following her years of training, she went on to qualify as a Specialist GP.

Since 2015, Dr Imaan has added to her surgical skillset and repertoire by venturing into Aesthetic Medicine and additionally has undertaken further training in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Surgery, since the two related fields often go hand in hand.

Dr Imaan is a trainer for Merz, helping to educate new injectors in medical aesthetics with a focus on safety and subtle rejuvenation.

She is also one of the few injectors in Australia to adopt the use of ultrasound in her practice since 2020 to further lower risk of filler related complications.

Over the years, Dr Imaan’s has been a regular expert contributor on Mamamia as well as Go-To, The Sydney Morning Herald and other publications on her views on the medical aesthetics industry and the need for an ethical, honest approach.

Dr Imaan has an active presence on Instagram where she regularly educates via her content for free, including on the basics of skincare, what to expect when having injectables, when to know you may be better suited to plastic surgery as well as the importance of full face holistic rejuvenation as opposed to piecemeal aesthetics on demand, which lead to the dreaded pillowface.

In clinic, as on her instagram pages, she is direct, sometimes blunt but always honest and transparent. Her focus is on full face rejuvenation with a focus on skin, injectables as well as ongoing maintenance so her initial consultation is always geared towards addressing your concerns and assessing if you are prepared to do what’s needed to see results.
