There are many skin care treatments that are a good fit for patients. One of the benefits of working with Skin Essentials is that there is not a one-size fits all approach to skin care. During your patient intake session, we will get all the information from you necessary to recommend the right skin care regimen for you. Good, healthy skin takes time and commitment, and the right level of expertise to make sure that a recommended treatment is a good fit for you. Let’s take a look at some of the different personalised skin care treatments that can be tailored to your needs.
Anti-wrinkle injections are among the most commonly used skin care treatments for wrinkles of various types. There are different brands that are available in Australia. However, we have chosen an option for our patients that yields the most natural appearing results. There are a couple of different situations where anti-wrinkle injections can be used as part of your personalised skin care treatment plan:
When anti-wrinkle injections are done correctly, the area where they are applied should not feel heavy and should allow natural movement of the skin. For example, if forehead lines are being treated with anti-wrinkle injections, you should still be able to talk to that person and not notice that they had an injection treatment at all.
We typically associate anti-wrinkle injections with frown lines and forehead lines. However, if you grind your teeth, anti-wrinkle injections can be an aid since they will help decrease the severity of the teeth grinding. If you have allergies, these injections can also help with decreasing the severity of rhinitis.
Skin needling is a type of treatment that stimulates collagen production in the skin. Another common name you might see for these types of treatments is “collagen induction therapy.” Skin needling involves a machine with several different tiny needles. The needles on the machine make a very tiny puncture in your skin that heals relatively quickly. Your skin responds by introducing collagen-rich tissue as it heals, stimulating a rejuvenated appearance in your skin.
Many people think that they only need skin needling alone to help with aged skin. However, skin needling works best when used in conjunction with serums designed for your skin type. You will also be advised on some good at home skin care routines that you may want to try. Many people see skin needling work well within 2 to 3 sessions that can last and improve over time.
Over the years, fillers have become increasingly popular, largely because of the popularity associated with celebrities receiving them. However, in a correct context, skin fillers are best used in a judicious manner. If you come to Skin Essentials for your consultation, we will look at your face in a holistic manner. Dermal fillers can be used to improve the look and appearance of your entire face.
Sometimes, we encounter patients who have been to another skin care clinic who are unhappy with their results. We can easily dissolve fillers that have been applied and have led to negative results. We use an enzyme that breaks down the hyaluronic acid component of the fillers that the patient wants dissolved.
Biostimulator filters are another type of filler treatment that are not commonly known. The misconception is that our skin stretches over time, leading to wrinkles; however, loss of volume over time and lack of collagen production are the reasons we experience wrinkles. Typically, dermal fillers are used to restore volume immediately. Biostimulator filters are used to enhance collagen production in the skin, which can help the skin look rejuvenated while avoiding the overfilled look that sometimes accompanies dermal fillers.
PRP can be used for certain types of hair loss, but it is also extremely viable as a skin treatment. Typically, PRP injected into the skin or used after skin needling can help improve skin texture and appearance. PRP is a unique treatment because it uses your body’s own blood to improve your skin. PRP treatments have two different benefits for your skin. First and foremost, PRP treatments stimulate the growth of new cells. Secondly, PRP also can also help heal damaged skin tissue.
Sometimes, people have done very little to minimize the aging process of their skin. If you are one of these people, our consultation will help put you on the right track. In some ways, this is our most personalised skin care service. We will recommend that you use sunscreen regularly, eat healthy, quit smoking, and commit to sun protection whenever possible. Full face rejuvenation typically entails multiple treatment modalities, such as anti-wrinkle treatments, certain types of dermal fillers, and other skin care regimens.
Over the years, we have all heard the different myths about the treatments that we should pursue for healthier skin. For example, a common misconception is that certain types of dermal fillers will help us achieve the look that we desire. In reality, good skin health, lifestyle choices, and a plethora of different options can help us look younger and more rejuvenated. Sometimes, we might pursue one skin care option and not get all the information about the right skin care treatment that we should be pursuing.
